I've been giving a lot of thought to the history and science of hydromechanics. I find it exciting that the work done in the model basins of the US and Europe at the start of the last century informs the work being done on ships - and spacecraft - today. I wonder if Froude and Taylor every gave a thought to the longevity of their discoveries?
