Seems it was terribly cumbersome to use. It had to be lugged to the spot. Set up. Have the photo taken without any dirt involved... And that was just for one photo.
The entire process had to be repeated for subsequent images!
And when you were done for the day? You had to lug the camera home before you could develop the images.
A far cry from the digital cameras of today.
